Try a large diameter prop on your boat it is big and heavy and need alot of blade to pick it up out of the water. I am running a 14 1/2 x 23 pro series. It may settle your boat down at slower speeds.

I am with the rest of you guys. I have a ranger 395v only with a yamaha v-p special 220 that I have modified. It pushes about 250hp. Please take a look its on youtube just look up ranger395v. Please comment and tell me what you think. About Champion boats they used to be a good boat in the early 80s but they have long since pasted. Ranger has always been the leader in the bass boats. They may not always be the fastest but they are built the best.

Thanks for posting this vid…I LOVE seeing older quality boats being used and appreciated by someone.

BTW….get used to assholes hijacking your comments about which boat is best….smart folks know the BEST boat is the boat YOU like.

  7. lovefastboats21 says:

Champion has a better ride I know for a fact I own a 04 champ 206 elite and my friend has an 06 ranger z21 and yes the ranger has a good ride but not as good as a champ. Idk what kind of old piece of shit champion you were riding in that got you wet but you can’t have the oldest smallest champion made and judge its ride. When you get to ride in some real boats you will have more of an education to talk.

  8. basskidd123 says:

@Punt66 what model ranger did u have and what model skeeter did u have ??? cuz if the ranger was a 18′ i can see wh u dont like it now ride in a 21′ ranger with a 300hp mercury then you get a real boat but skeeter are also okey how long was ur skeeter?? just my opion ranger is a all around boat fast handle well but like i said just my opinion

  9. Punt66 says:

@basskidd123 Based on your language we all know who is like 10. Actually i am 36 and have owned a ranger, a skeeter and now a 20′ champion 200hp johnson. I will be fishing at champlain shortly in the open as a boater. But your right. I dont know anything.

  10. basskidd123 says:

@Punt66 k well whatever you say bud but dont cry when u get wet in 6in of waves and obv u dont know a thing how old ru fucking 10 champion r okey but u get wet rangers design is way better for rough water well atleast the older oner but whatever floats ur boat bud :)

  11. Punt66 says:

@basskidd123 Champion is the TRUE big water boat. You obviously dont know a thing.

  12. basskidd123 says:

@Punt66 ru fucking on crack ranger is the leader ther designe is better then anything out there they may not be the fastest boats but they can handle in rough water and and you dont get wet they go pretty fastand in a shitchamiop u get soaked
everythings gets wet but just my opinion

  13. Punt66 says:

a bass boat is a speed boat. Also, i dont get it! Bass boats go in the 70′s and allison’s or bass cats are in the 80′s. This boat is a slug. Ranger does make nice boats but champion boats are the leader hands down.

  14. spyder357 says:

ROFL. Expect a speed boat and you see a bass boat coming.

Thanks for sharing and have fun!

  15. mrcarrs says:

I have the same boat but my exhaust is through the lower unit. with a 19 pitch prop it JUMPS out of the water!! and mine runs at 64 w/4 adults, and the best w/21 pitch prop is 73 on GPS

  16. rangerbass519 says:

no you definitely can’t order that motor any more!!!!

  17. rangerbass519 says:

AMEN AMEN AMEN DUDE!!! No matter what anyone says ranger has and always will be the best!!! And viningm that’s one sweet ass rig!!!

  18. ruffneck4 says:

Ranger Boats Best ever made period!

  19. viningm1 says:

No modification. Its a factory equiped boat and was listed in Ranger’s catalog. I was told you could special order one now, but not sure. So far I have it running in the low 60s. It porpuses alot below 35 mph. Over 35 and it settles down. I don’t have enough experience with other boats to be able to compare hole shot, but it is a lot of fun.

  20. amob13 says:

    WOW……………….
you’re the man for that mod.
    top speed?
    how does it handle?
any cons in the hole performance?
    wow again man.
