Question by jpcook: I have a 1987 startos bass boat and my trim gauge dosnt operate attempted a new gauge?
new gauge still in-op checked have excellent ground but the sender wire has no voltage any help would be wonderful or if you know exactly where i can find a stratos service manual cant appear to locate one particular anywhere.

Try world wide web! have you cleaned sending unit, removed corrosion at all connections and terminal! sending unit clean corrosion totally free and moving to send position of energy unit positions to the Gage!
Have you checked the “anode” to check to see that it is in great condition? the “anode” offers for sacrificial corrosion at the anode to avert corrosion on the boat each the boat fittings , motors, engines & electrical connections – Components!
Check TO SEE IF ANODE IS PAINTED More than! Get rid of PAINT COATING OR REPLACE ANODE IF IT IS COATED Over! IF THE ANODE IS NOT CORRODING THE REST OF THE BOAT, MOTOR, ENGINES ARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If it is a resistance guage and not powered up, touch the 2 wires together that go to the guage, or use a jumper. Disconnect guage from system and try it, and see if the guage pegs to the other side of the trim range, if it does, it will let you know that the guage has the capability of working.
