Depends on the weather and wind and how far out you go. I’ve seen bass boats swamped, blown over, and tipped over on Lake Erie like toys. Make sure you have a life vest, and can swim.

If weather kicks up , you will regret it.
Bass boats are for flat water.
Flat V hull for shallow water , low transom & not much freeboard .
Everything that makes it a good bass boat makes it bad for the sound.
Saw a “lake” boat sink at a mooring last summer just from water slopping over the transom.
In a calm bay near land might be OK but it could be a really bad day if the sound acts up,
    Best regards

We followed a bigger Ranger out of Brookings,Or in bad weather when the silvers were running. It always bobbed back to the surface, but you wouldn’t get me on that boat. The only thing keeping it afloat was the foam in the hull. Those drunks didn’t seem to mind though.
