Looking for info on my boat and motor please?

Question by MeTaLaNgLeR: Seeking for info on my boat and motor please?
Great morning, I have a question about an outboard motor on my bass boat. I would like to get service manuals for this motor but I cannot locate a serial amount, I looked all over for a tag and come up with nothing at all.
It is a Mercury 150hp XR2 black max. The boat is a 1987 Procraft 1780. I also asked about a speedometer a couple days back. Wonderful replies. I took the rubber hose off at the gauge and blew air into it. Felt golgged, worked my way back to the motor and un hooked it, the gauge side is not glogged but I am questioning about the engine side. Any ideas in this as effectively?
Boat runs fine, I just purchased it a couple of weeks ago. I would like to have some information…..just in case, and to carry out scheduled maintenance Thanks

it may well be beneath the engine cover on the engine its self.when you get the boat out and run it put some sea foam in the gas it will make it run really great soon after a few runs.

you can get free online engine schematics and parts catalogue at http://www.ishopmarine.com

check the motor mounting bracket, port side for model/serial number

also try the repair forums at forums.iboats.com

some vendors I have used and can recommend, that probably carry your manuals:
    ishopmarine.com
    iboats.com
    marineengine.com
    kencook.com

Turn the motor all the way one way or the other.

Look on the vertical housing, just under the engine housing and there should be a plate or decal that gives you the information.

Or, see if there is a website for Mercury outboards and maybe what you need is there.

    Good luck!
